Xhorse3D Showcases Desktop Manufacturing at TCT Asia 2026

Xhorse3D introduced its latest digital manufacturing solutions at TCT Asia 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. During the exposition, visitors were able to become acquainted with the two main products of the company—the Xmachine XM-100 Desktop 5-Axis CNC Machining Center and the Xscanner3D Handheld Laser Scanner—and see how desktop manufacturing is becoming more available.

The Xhorse3D booth was popular with engineers, makers, designers, educators, and manufacturing professionals from the day the exhibition opened up to its last day. The following is a look at some of the highlights.

Desktop 5-Axis Machining Made Accessible

The booth was organized around the Xmachine XM-100, showing how the technology of professional 5-axis CNC machining can be adapted to compact and desktop format.

During live demonstrations, visitors were able to see how the Xmachine XM-100 works with complex surfaces and multi-sided machining of parts with high accuracy. The possibility to examine numerous samples produced from aluminum, wood, acrylic, and other materials allowed visitors to establish the full chain of work from digital design to the finished product.

There are many applications for desktop 5-axis machining such as rapid prototyping, DIY projects, product development, and small batch production.

A Live Repair That Became the Highlight of the Show

One of the most exciting instances at the exhibition took place unexpectedly.

A content creator was demonstrating a custom Gundam model when suddenly an ABS plastic gear failed Although like many functional 3D-printed parts, the gear reached its limit of endurance and could not withstand the load anymore.

However, instead of stopping the demonstration, the Xhorse3D team took on the challenge.

Via the Xmachine XM-100, they made a brand-new gear right at the booth starting from an aluminum blank, going through all the steps of CAD modeling and toolpath generation to simultaneous 5-axis machining in order to manufacture the metal part instead of the plastic one.

As viewers observed the full machining process happening live, a significant number of people gathered around the booth. Most were shocked to see an office machine creating an operative metal part without any external machining.

Nevertheless, the display indicated the way subtractive manufacturing worked well with additive manufacturing processes. 3D printing is suitable for quick prototyping and complex forms, CNC machining offers strength, precision, and durability needed for producing working parts. So rather than competing technologies, they work hand in hand to expand production possibilities.

Making 3D Scanning Easy for Everyone

The Xscanner3D also piqued strong interest during the show by allowing every visitor to try their hand at handheld 3D scanning.

Many attendees used a professional 3D scanner for the first time. The Xscanner3D, with its easy workflow, allowed visitors to produce their first scans in a matter of minutes, thus proving that accurate digital modeling does not require complicated knowledge anymore.

At Xhorse3D we are convinced that 3D scanning should not be the privilege of professionals only. It should serve as a creative tool available for designers, makers, teachers, and hobbyists.

More Than a Product Showcase

In addition to the product presentations, what was most memorable was the opportunity to meet members of the maker community.

During the event, conversations sprang up around machine capabilities and then naturally developed into discussions about project ideas, obstacles encountered in manufacturing, creative processes, and real-life lessons learned. Such conversations reminded us that innovation is not simply a function of technology.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everybody who came to the Xhorse3D booth during TCT Asia 2026 for their enthusiastic response to all the new technologies presented.

We hope it will be possible for us to meet even more creators, engineers, and innovators at other events and continue learning more about the opportunities provided by digital manufacturing process.
