Important Update on the WM-100 Project Delay,
NSG Export Control, Launch Plan, Full Refunds for Individual Deposits

First and foremost, we offer our sincerest apologies for the prolonged delay of the Xmachine WM-100 project. We are also deeply grateful for the trust and strong support you have shown for the WM-100 Kickstarter campaign. Over the past several months, we have received countless inquiries: "When will the WM-100 launch?" and "What's the latest on the machine?" Each question we receive is a reminder of your trust and anticipation, and we take that commitment very seriously.

Today, we are finally able to share the full and factual status of the project, and to inform you that the Xmachine WM-100 will officially launch on Kickstarter on September 10, 2026. However, before you decide whether to back this project, we must be completely transparent about the following.

1. About the Project Delay

We originally planned to launch the WM-100 on Kickstarter in May 2026. However, as we progressed through the project, we confirmed that the WM-100 is not a general-purpose machine eligible for unrestricted export. Given that it features two rotary axes and supports simultaneous 5-axis machining, it is classified as a controlled item requiring a formal export license under the export control regulations of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), specifically under Item 1.B.2 (Machine Tools) of document INFCIRC/254/Rev.13/Part 2. As an NSG member state, our government requires formal export licenses for such controlled items before customs clearance can be granted.

The project was delayed because we had not yet confirmed that export compliance was achievable. That is why we spent the past several months working to establish a legal and compliant delivery pathway. During this period, we submitted export applications for test units destined for both business and individual users. After product classification and the standard approval process, all business applications were granted export licenses, while individual user applications were rejected and have not been approved to date.

As a responsible enterprise, compliance has always been non-negotiable for us. We have repeatedly consulted government authorities and professional legal firms, making every effort to find a compliant export pathway for individual users. However, based on all available information, there are significant practical obstacles for individual users to obtain such export licenses – we currently have no successful cases of individual applicants. Therefore, with great regret, we must inform you that at this time, individual users are currently unable to participate in this Kickstarter campaign. If a compliant solution becomes available in the future, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity.

2. Launch Plan for WM-100

In light of this reality, we have made a difficult decision: the WM-100 Kickstarter campaign will launch on September 10, 2026, open to non-individual users. This decision is not made for commercial gain, but by our commitment to honor the patience and trust you've placed in us.

We must be clear: If you're joining this campaign as a business entity – a registered organization that can provide the required end-user certificate and will use the machine for genuine business or research purposes (this includes companies, factories, research institutes, universities, and government agencies) – we'll need your help with some documentation for government review after the campaign ends. These typically include the sales contract, company profile, and end-use commitment letter, as well as any other materials requested by the authorities. We will guide you through the entire process and assist with all approval procedures. Should the approval not go through, we will refund your full payment.

We are deeply sorry to inform individual users: if you have already paid a deposit, please send an email to info@xhorse3d.com, and we will arrange a full refund of your deposit. At the same time, we sincerely thank you for your continued attention and support. Even if you request a refund, your exclusive early-backer VIP benefits will still be reserved for you. If a feasible compliance pathway for individual purchases becomes available in the future, we will contact you immediately to ensure that you can still purchase the machine at the most favorable price.

This decision is one we make with great regret. No one wants the WM-100 to reach every creator sooner than we do, but we cannot ignore the real compliance obstacles just to push the project forward, nor can we expose our supporters to unforeseeable risks.

3. About the Xmachine WM-100

Xmachine WM-100 is by no means a concept machine or a prototype that exists only on paper. Its predecessor, the XM-100, was officially delivered to the Chinese market in 2025 and has since accumulated over a thousand units delivered, with tens of thousands of users who have worked with it. The machine has also been proven in university competitions and other demanding applications.

The WM-100 is a comprehensive upgrade over the XM-100, built on extensive feedback from real users. It is not a prototype; it is a proven machine that has already demonstrated its capability in university labs, maker spaces, prototyping, and small batch production.

Given that 5-axis machine tools fall under export controls, compliance approval is required not only for the complete machine but also for its core components. This means that even after delivery, future spare part shipments will need to go through the same compliance process.
